Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Conexstra Technologies Private Limited (“Conexstra”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MotoRoadies mobile application, the website at motoroadies.com, and related services (the “Service”). It should be read together with our Terms of Use.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Your name, email address, and profile photo, provided by Google or Apple when you sign in.
- A phone number, if an administrator pre-provisions your account or you add one to a group profile.
- An internal user identifier we generate.
Location and motion data
- Precise GPS location, collected in the foreground and background, including the route of each trip: latitude, longitude, speed, heading, accuracy, and timestamps.
- Device motion sensor data (accelerometer/gyroscope), used to detect when you start riding and to identify driving events such as harsh braking, harsh acceleration, fast cornering, and over-speeding.
- While you are an active member of a riding group, your current location may be shared with other members of that group during rides so the group can see each other on a map.
Trip and scoring data
- Trip distance, duration, start and end points, driving-event counts, and safety scores derived from the above.
Content you create
- Ride Stories (title, text, photos, points of interest, tags).
- Saved Places and wishlist items.
- Group profiles (display name, contact details, bio, social handles, vehicle details, avatar) and group posts (text and photos).
Photos and Trails
Trails turns the photos you take on your rides into a map of places, shared with the riders in your groups, so everyone can see where the good spots are and which months they look best when planning a tour.
- Photo library access is optional. We ask for it only when you open Trails and choose to allow it. You can allow access to only selected photos. On Android we request photo access (not video or audio) and permission to read photo locations.
- What is read, and when. If you turn on “Find photos from my rides” (off by default), then after each ride you record, the app looks only at photos taken from 30 minutes before that ride to 2 hours after it. If you tap “+” in Trails, it looks at photos from the last 12 months. For each of those photos the app reads only its capture time, location, and size.
- This happens on your phone. Grouping photos into rides, and remembering which photos it has already looked at, happens on your device. Photos you don’t publish, and their dates and locations, are never sent to us.
- Your home stays private by default. The app works out on your device where your trips usually start and end, and leaves photos taken within about 1 km of that spot unselected. That location is never sent to us.
- When you publish a trail, we receive only the photos you selected, resized and re-saved on your phone first. This removes the original file’s embedded information (such as camera and device details). With them we receive each photo’s location and capture time, the trail’s name and place name, the ride’s dates and distance, and which of your recorded trips it belongs to.
- We also record likes on trails, and basic usage events in Trails (for example, that the map was opened) to understand how the feature is used. Usage events are deleted after 180 days.
- Photos you add to Stories, group posts, or your avatar are chosen by you through the system photo picker and uploaded when you post them.
Reports
- When you report a story, trail photo, group post, or rider, we record who reported it, the reason, any details you add, and a copy of the reported content for our team to review. The person you report is not told who reported them.
Device and diagnostic information
- Device brand, model, and operating-system version, used to help background tracking work reliably on devices known to restrict it.
- In-app diagnostic logs about tracking and app behavior. These stay on your device unless you choose to share them with our support team.
- Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics).
- Push notification tokens, so we can send trip and group notifications.
Subscription information
- Whether you have an active MotoRoadies Pro subscription, the product purchased, renewal and expiry dates, the store (App Store or Google Play), and related transaction identifiers. Payments are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- We keep an internal log of subscription events (purchase, renewal, cancellation, expiry, and manual support adjustments).
2. How we use information
- Detect, record, and display your trips and routes.
- Compute your safety score and driving-event breakdown.
- Operate community features: Stories, Places, groups, group posts, live group maps, and leaderboards.
- Operate Trails: show the photos you publish as places on your groups’ Trails map, and show which months a place has been photographed, to help riders plan when to ride there.
- Review reports, remove objectionable content, and block abusive accounts.
- Provide, verify, and manage MotoRoadies Pro subscriptions and entitlements.
- Send transactional messages, including group-profile email verification codes and notifications.
- Diagnose problems, prevent abuse and fraudulent scores, and improve the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. How information is shared
- With other users and publicly. Published Stories and Places, and — for Pro riders — leaderboard entries (your rider handle, avatar, average score, distance, and trip count), are visible to other users and on our public website. Your group profile, group posts, and live location during rides are visible to members of that group.
- Trails are shared only within your groups. A trail you publish is visible to you and to riders who are active members of a regular group you also belong to. You join a regular group only through an invite from one of its members. Trails are never public, never on our website, have no public links, and are not visible to people you meet only through a one-off group ride. If you or they leave the group, they stop seeing your trails. You can unpublish or delete a trail at any time. Showing your trails to your groups when you publish them is not a sale or transfer of your data to a third party.
- Moderation. If our team removes your content or blocks your account after a report, we email you about the decision. Any further conversation about it happens by email.
- Service providers. We use third parties to run the Service, including: Google and Firebase (sign-in, authentication, file storage, crash reporting); RevenueCat, Inc. (subscription management and receipt validation); Apple and Google (app distribution and payments); and an email delivery provider (transactional email). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Conexstra, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Conexstra is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We retain your trip, route, event, and score data for as long as your account exists, and for active Pro subscribers we keep it for at least 3 years. On the free plan you can only view the most recent 7 days of this data, but it is not deleted — subscribing to Pro restores your access to it.
Your safety score, leaderboard rankings, and analytics are always calculated over a rolling 90-day window, regardless of plan — older trips remain in your history but do not affect your current score.
Trails and their photos are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Unpublishing a trail hides it from everyone else but keeps it for you. Deleting a trail deletes its photos from our storage. Moderation records are kept while the accounts involved exist, so we can handle repeat abuse and appeals.
Subscription event logs are kept for accounting and support purposes. When you delete your account we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.
5. Your choices and rights
- Location and motion: you can turn off location or motion permissions in your device settings at any time. Doing so stops automatic trip detection.
- Photos: you can remove photo access, or limit it to selected photos, in your device settings at any time, and turn “Find photos from my rides” on or off in Trails. Trails keeps working for the trails you have already published.
- Access and correction: your profile information is visible and editable in the app.
- Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account in the app, or by request — see Delete your account & data. This includes your trails, their photos, your likes, your Trails usage events, and any reports you made.
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object to it. Contact us to exercise these rights.
6. Content moderation
MotoRoadies has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive riders. Anyone can report a story, trail photo, group post, or rider from the app. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours. If content breaks our Terms of Use, we remove it, and we may block the account that posted it: a blocked account cannot sign in, and its content is hidden from other riders. We email the account holder about any action we take.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and other measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Conexstra operates from India, and our service providers (including Google/Firebase, RevenueCat, and our email provider) may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will provide notice, for example in the app or by email, and update the “Last updated” date above.
