A genuinely long ride down the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and onward state highways into the Sahyadri's strawberry country, at the edge of comfortable one-day range. Venna Lake offers easy boating in town, while Arthur's Seat and Wilson Point deliver some of the range's most dramatic cliff-edge views into the Konkan below. Pratapgad Fort, tied to Shivaji's history, is a worthwhile short detour. Roadside strawberry stalls line the approach during the February-June season. Practical note: many riders split this with an overnight in Pune given the distance; strawberry season brings heavier tourist traffic, and monsoon fog can blanket the final ghat approach with limited visibility. Fresh strawberries and locally made preserves are sold from small stalls throughout town, and a stop at one of the panoramic points for sunset is a ritual most visitors build their day around.
